If you are making it a long weekend, listed below are a few of our favorite restaurants, bars, and things to do in New Orleans!
Fun, brightly decorated restaurant serving delicious New Orleans classics like BBQ shrimp, crawfish étouffée, boudin balls, jambalaya, and some of the best fried chicken. Don't leave without trying the shrimp and alligator sausage cheesecake!
One of our favorites - we go every time we are in New Orleans. Pro tip - try not to get stuffed on the pita bread before getting your entree! Although the fried chicken hummus is the best. The chicken leg & thigh and skirt steak are must haves.
Delicious restaurant with a fun atmosphere, located right down the street from the WWII Museum and the Higgins Hotel. They work with local farmers and fishermen, so the menu is always changing but always fantastic!
Our first date in New Orleans was at Antoine's. One of the oldest, most historic restaurants in the city.
If you are up for the drive (or Uber), this is a little plug for Drexel's (Blake's brother's) restaurant in Metairie. Some of the best Italian in the city! We love the eggplant sticks, panne chicken over the pesto Alfredo pasta, eggplant parmesan, and Osso bucco.
Delicious pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and coffee drinks. I recommend hitting this bakery one morning then walking along Magazine Street to shop!
Rooftop bar with a beautiful view of the city.
Iconic New Orleans bar located in the Hotel Monteleone.
For the jazz enthusiasts.
Many shops and bars are located all throughout the French Quarter. Take a stroll through Jackson Square, listen to the local musicians, and check out the art from the street vendors. Don't forget to grab a beignet at Cafe Du Monde, located right across from Jackson Square.
Absolutely worth checking out. There are so many exhibits to see - likely impossible to cram into one day, but make sure to carve out some time for this incredible museum honoring our nation's heroes.
